There are a few things that I really like about using AWJ Engineering’s consultancy for contract work. The same expert works on the respective tasks for each software each time, so it is easy to make additions or adjustments to the project after the first deliverables and have them remember without having to start from scratch. The expert always uploads both a text commentary and video summary of the work output with every deliverable. This is extremely helpful for quickly reviewing to ensure the study worked as well as understanding how it was made so further improvements can be done later. The work is done very fast and on a clear timeline. Every deliverable was done within a few days to a week of time and without any significant delays. In addition, AWJ Engineering would schedule clarification calls early and often if there some a misunderstanding. The experts are clearly knowledgeable both in the online tools as well as underlying fundamentals and so even with very little explanation or a vague description of what type of output we should expect from the code, were able to still complete the task. Looking forward to working together more. The project’s success so far has led me to continue to add more tasks to the scope.

My project has continued to grow with AWJ Engineering’s consultancy and so this is a follow-up to very positive feedback that I already left for them previously last year. Inevitably, after utilizing some of the initial models or scripts delivered, there are things that I want to change or add after I have worked with it. AWJ Engineering is very understanding to this approach, even if a long time has passed since first discussed, and can activate their team to remember the past work, review the requested changes, and make the adjustments accordingly. The team has good English comprehension skills and so can take either written or verbal guidance. They have even improved their report delivery system by offering to update the same document with the latest results and keeping a Google Drive folder active with all current models. In addition to the detailed step-by-step outputs, this organization is very useful when reviewing the status of multiple deliverables at a time and also going back through the history to reflect on the direction of the project. Even though AWJ Engineering’s consultancy has grown considerably over the past year as they have taken on more clients, they still make my old project a priority even when sometimes the newer and smaller one-off short-term projects will pay more. This should give confidence to others that they won’t bail on you for greener pastures midway through the project and you are left hanging with a half-working model that’s already been paid for. Many projects in this industry are forced to be flat-rate because of the unpredictable nature of the development as well as the relationship. I have had good success with hourly tracking of AWJ Engineering’s hours. They are fair with what is billed every week and so the hourly billing makes it convenient without having to constantly approve new fixed rate contracts every time. AWJ Engineering continues to amaze me with how skilled they are in the various fields. Portions of our project have advanced to open-ended research projects because they have surpassed my initial expectations and even my own understanding. They are able to work independently and come up with new directions and ideas on their own and then report back on a weekly or monthly basis. This is a very rare relationship to find, especially on Upwork, so I am lucky to have stumbled into it with AWJ Engineering.

AWJ Engineering’s project spanned almost two years and involved many different sub-tasks. Changing priorities, new ideas, and uncertain direction never seemed to be an issue with their team like it has been with other freelancers that give up or flake out. They even recruited other experts to assist once a new clear sub-project was established. Another thing that I appreciate is that AWJ Engineering worked efficiently until they were told to stop, even if I got so busy with my own tasks that I wasn’t able to review their work as frequently or suggest new ideas. The relationship when beyond a simple contract freelance job as we were ultimately research collaborators and they were able to maintain progress even when I got distracted. Finally, as a capstone to the project, AWJ Engineering created detailed instructional videos and organized report to discuss all of the setup and results from the projects. This made it easy to summarize and use for other applications as well as continue the work myself by building on what they started.
